STEPHEN SIMPSON – Stephen Simpson is known for his vibrant paintings which deliver an impactful contemporary twist on the classical genre of floral art. His artworks are deeply layered, whilst they also take on an almost sculptural shape. Playing on the intricacies woven into the shape of flowers, Stephen's work blends the organic with an approach that mixes aspects of 2D and 3D sculpture. This is achieved through a heavy texture and high-gloss technique. This distinctly unique take on floral art is something that produces deeply captivating results. Whilst it is very much part of the historic lineage of floral artwork, it also carves out its own space.

Roses, poppies, daisies, hibiscuses and sunflowers are all depicted in a spectrum of different colours, including bold primary tones and delicate pastel shades. Often chosen by collectors for a wedding or anniversary gift, his romantic scenes feature bouquets, along with earthy landscapes and intricate details of petals.

Speaking on his new collection at Adamo Gallery, he says: "I wanted to provoke a sense of hope and give it an all-round uplifting feeling by using bursts of colour and texture. We’re all living through testing times, and I want to spread some positivity. I hope to make people smile when they see the collection, it’s meant to be happy – everyone deserves to be happy."
