GARETH TRISTAN EVANS  –  Born in Singapore, raised in a remote Welsh valley, and now residing in Macclesfield, Gareth is an emerging mixed media artist whose work is captivating an expanding audience of contemporary art collectors both in the UK and abroad.

His artistic journey is shaped by a rich blend of personal experiences and an insatiable curiosity for materials and techniques. His latest series, Urban Geisha, exemplifies this dynamic approach. In this collection, Gareth reinvents the classic image of the Geisha, infusing it with a contemporary, urban edge. The pieces reflect a dialogue between old and new, as he blends the elegance and mystique of traditional Eastern aesthetics with the gritty, rebellious spirit of street art. Gold leaf glistens against acrylic paint, while delicate Hanko stamps and vintage Japanese postage stamps hint at the cultural heritage underpinning the series.

Adding a further dimension, 3D relief tiles are embedded within the compositions, creating textured surfaces that invite closer inspection.
